About the Class
April 11, 2-5pm An introduction to woodworking specifically designed for women, taught by an amazing instructor, Mara Ziegler! @silverhair_and_sawdust Learn woodworking basics through both lecture and making/building. Learn terminology, tools, and techniques, as well as the proper use of safety gear, how to shop for supplies, and much more. Make your own plant propagation station to take home with you. Class Overview The goal of this class is to expose your inner woodworker and get you excited about all of the things you can make/build with some basic knowledge, a few tools, and some pieces of wood. We’ll start with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), basic tools to get the job done (many here at The Rivet), lumber selection, how to measure accurately, how to use a drill (drill press), hammer, punch, nails and sander. We'll discuss finish options, and more.
